Anjaneri Fort, located about 20 km from Nashik on the Nashik–Trimbakeshwar road, is a trek that beautifully blends nature, mythology, and history. It is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman, making it one of the most significant spiritual treks in Maharashtra. The fort is part of the Sahyadri ranges and offers mesmerizing views of rolling green hills, valleys, and nearby peaks like Brahmagiri and Harihar during the monsoon.
The trek begins from Anjaneri village, with the initial stretch involving stone steps leading up through lush landscapes, small caves, and temples. Midway, trekkers come across the Anjani Mata temple, dedicated to the mother of Hanuman, which is a key pilgrimage spot. The upper plateau is wide and scenic, dotted with small lakes, water bodies, and ancient structures.

The day begins in the early hours of the morning, around 4:00 AM, with a serene visit to the sacred Trimbakeshwar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The temple’s peaceful atmosphere and the divine aura of the early morning darshan set the tone for the rest of the journey. About Trimbakeshwar Temple
Nestled in the town of Trimbak, about 28 km from Nashik, Trimbakeshwar Temple is one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and holds immense religious importance in Hinduism. The temple is uniquely significant because it represents not just Lord Shiva but also Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma. The Jyotirlinga here is a three-faced lingam, symbolizing the holy trinity of Hinduism, making it one of the most revered pilgrimage destinations in India..
Trimbakeshwar is also famous for being one of the few places where important Hindu rituals like Narayan Nagbali, Kaal Sarp Dosh Nivaran, Rudra Abhishek, and Tripindi Shraddha are performed. Devotees from across India come here to seek peace, blessings, and liberation from doshas.
Surrounded by the lush Sahyadri ranges, the temple’s setting enhances its spiritual aura, especially during the monsoon when the entire region turns green with flowing streams and misty hills. Whether you are a pilgrim or a traveler seeking cultural and spiritual depth, a visit to Trimbakeshwar offers a serene and divine experience.
